A favorite
zine of
librarians, run for many years by Marvin Scilken. Known for its determinedly simple
graphic design (is it
retro if it never became
modern?), the "how I run my library good" rag has been the
Everything of
libraries.
(It's also one of my steadiest outlets for selling crossword puzzles -- custom-made with library-related themes, of course).
U*L is now run by Mitch Freedman, the American Library Association President for 2002-2003. It's no longer typed by hand on an old typewriter, and cut and paste are just keystrokes these days, but its design remains simple.
