Ř

A letter unique to the Czech language, almost impossible to pronounce. I believe that the correct name for it is a "rolled fricative". It is said by simultaneously pronouncing a rolled "r" and a "shhh" sound. It is quite difficult to say and, in fact, must be taught to Czech kindergarteners.

The letter in question, which appears as HTML garbage in the headline, is of course the Czech "patent", "r with caron". For a better idea about the Czech alphabet, visit http://www.omniglot.com/writing/czech.htm .
