Watched carefully now

auburn slept to the dogs in the yard
comfort blistered in her step
wrote for every minute

she dances on the stage,
haystack dusk of the auditorium lights
trained on her standing still

Trailed your feet at the empty song
for every day's reproach
cursed beneath the palms.

daylight paused threw the sky overhead
fingers frame the dusk on the window
to fall back into mine

wool pressed into a pattern,
lied on her back, a
tempest fell to the cabinets.

clench her teeth around sacred hands
her verses fell from the keyhole
she sounded the bell of twilight
and harmony was the strife

Assent in silent
nor ever in passivity
light fell upon all obscured
