A supplementary guide, written by Steven Weisenburger, a professor at the University of Kentucky (at least as of 1988) to Thomas Pynchon's monumental novel Gravity's Rainbow. It provides sources and contexts for referential use when reading Gravity's Rainbow. At first, one who uses this book might feel guilty (as I did), or somehow inadequate in that they need "help" reading a novel. But once one realizes that the novel incorporates such diverse subjects as rocket science, chemistry, ancient Norse mythology, astrology, and much, much, more, all in GREAT depth; one inevitably puts aside one's guilt and sees A Gravity's Rainbow Companion for what it is: a Godsend.
