Director Ang Lee was born October 23, 1954 in Taiwan. In 1978 he moved to the U.S. to attend the University of Illinois.
He earned his Bachelor's degree in Theatre,
and later went on to the New York University to study
Film Production, and to earn his Master's degree.
Lee has developed a reputation for making films about foreign worlds, and non-mainstream culture and lifestyles.
