Science fiction FanCon planned for the end of 2000 in Israel. The highlight was planned to be spending the night of 31 December 2000 in Megiddo (aka Armageddon), waiting for the end of the world, megarobot wars, and anything else that might happen.

Larry Niven was supposed to come.

I imagine Spock ears were busily being sought after by the afficionados.

At the last moment, they cancelled Armageddon 2001.

Because of the security situation, the guests (notably Niven) had all cancelled their arrival. And nobody really felt like spending a night outdoors.
