A teaching of Jesus' during The Sermon on the Mount
This is a personal favourite: "Ask, and you will receive; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you" This says to me "Don't sit around waiting, Don't be afraid" It's easy to sit around moaning, but it takes courage to Ask, Seek, Knock. This flies in the face of the "Ask and you won't get" admonishment (mostly from parents to bratty children :)
