The Association of Local Authority Chief Executives or ALACE is essentially the trade union that represents the interests of Chief Executives of local government authorities in the United Kingdom; it provides the staff side of the Joint Negotiating Committee for Chief Executives, which is the body responsible for deciding on salaries and other terms and conditions of employment for local authority Chief Executives (at least in England and Wales).

To be eligible for membership you must hold the position of the head of paid service of a local authority principal council in England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales, the Channel Islands, the Isle of Man or the Isles of Scilly.
