The Banana PC was a sometime character on Berke Breathed's Bloom County. Owned by (or in cahoots with) Oliver Wendell Jones, dimunitive cracker extraordinaire, the Banana PC was pretty clearly a Mac Plus with legs. As the manual for it put it, "It slices! It dices! And most important of all...it turns off." Actually, the Mac Assistant in Microsoft Office 98 for the Mac looks nearly exactly like the Banana PC, except that the Banana PC was beige.

Actually, it was a "Banana Jr." and was a contemporary of the IBM PC Jr. and it was yellow, like a banana.

it also computes! sorts! prints! draws! figures! doodles! whistles! whimpers! dances! and prances! in addition to slicing, dicing and turning off.
