Insider knowledge about B&O: Most of the components in their hifi, television, video and radio appliances are high end philips components, some of their products have been 100% philips except the housing offcourse.

B&O has probaly the coolest-looking stereo systems. The nifty Danish design makes it a gem in every livingroom. In addition, they have a range of technical solutions that connect all the B&O sound systems and TVs in the house together. The music can follow you from room to room etc.

But there's a downside to it all. The sound quality isn't as good as the price tag implies. Do not misunderstand me here. I like the sound of some B&O systems, but you would get better sound from a Bose* system at 3/4 of the price although they don't look so cool. The leads me to the conclusion that you pay mostly for the cool design.

*: Bose is used for comparison only. There are lots and lots of sound systems that are cheaper and better than both Bose and B&O. But Bose has relatively the same concept and design as B&O, but better sound.
