Exclusive Boston neighborhood built on the remains of one of the three hills that originally made up
Boston. (see the
trimountain). The other two hills were removed for use as fill, and the peak of
Beacon Hill was shaved off for the same purposes. Beacon Hill is the location of the
Massachusetts State House, and a lot of narrow,
one way cobblestone streets with
gas streetlights. The homes are narrow brick row houses, most of which date back to the eighteenth century.
