| Joe Jackson's third album released in 1980. In the liner notes, it says, "This album represents a desparate (sic) attempt to make some sense of Rock and Roll. Deep in our hearts, we knew it was doomed to failure. The question remains: Why did we try?"
To be fair, that's a bit harsh--although this is probably one of Joe's least accessible albums. He borrows heavily from reggae and ska that was starting to get popular at the time, and the album feels a bit disjointed. I kind of think of it in the same way I think of The Cars' Panorama--a good album that is a sylistic departure from the albums before it. To be fair, I don't listen to it much.
