Biot Number

A dimensionless number used in heat transfer in general and unsteady state calculations in particular. Proportional to (Thermal internal resistance) / (Surface film resistance).

Bi = (hT (x2-x1)) / k

hT: heat transfer coefficient, (x2-x1): mid-plane distance, k: thermal conductivity
