British Monarchs Mnemonic Poem

created by Alias Mother Jonez

This is a common mnemonic device (memorizing tool) used by British schoolchildren (or at least that's what I was told) in order to remember the English kings and queens:

Willy, Willy, Harry, Stee,
Harry, Dick, John, Harry three.
One, two, three Ned, Richard two,
Harry's four, five, six, then who?
Edwards four and five, Dick the bad...
Harry's twain, Ned six (the lad)
Mary, Bessie, James you ken...
then Charlie, Charlie, James again.
Will and Mary, Anna Gloria,
Georges four, Will four, Victoria.
Edward seven next, and then
came George the fifth in 1910.
Ned the Eighth soon abdicated
Then George the Sixth was coronated
After which Elizabeth...
and that's all folks until her death.

(pipelinks suggested by filterjones)

Dick the bad is Richard III of Shakespeare fame
Bessie is Queen Elizabeth I
Stee=Stephen of Blois
Harry=Henry
Ned=Edward

This list only covers the line starting with William the Conqueror in 1066. Before that ruled:
Egbert (802-39)
Aethelwulf (839-55)
Aethelbald (855-60)
Aethelbert (860-6)
Aethelred (866-71)
Alfred the Great (871-99)
Edward the Elder (899-925)
Athelstan (925-40)
Edmund the Magnificent (940-6)
Eadred (946-55)
Eadwig (Edwy) All-Fair (955-59)
Edgar the Peaceable (959-75)
Edward the Martyr (975-78)
Aethelred the Unready (978-1016)
Edmund Ironside (1016)
Svein Forkbeard (1014)
Canute the Great (1016-35)
Harald Harefoot (1035-40)
Hardicanute (1040-42)
Edward the Confessor (1042-66)
Harold II (1066)

I'd like to see you come up with a mnemonic device for them!
