Born 8 February 1906; Died 19 September 1968. Carlson developed the process known as Xerography, whereby images could be transfered to normal paper. This invention was instrumental in moving The Haloid Company (now Xerox) into the forefront of document technology.

Namesake of the Chester F. Carlson Center for Imaging Science at the Rochester Institute of Technology.
