A children's hospital is simply a
hospital designed for
children. The idea for children's hospitals comes from two facts:
1) Children, while being closely related to adults, are different and therefore require specialized care.
2) Psychologically, hospitals are horrible for children (as if they're not for everyone else), and children's hospitals are designed (mainly visually) to lessen the traumatic experience many children have.
