The China-type
cymbal is
manufactured by several names, including
Sabian,
Paiste and
Zildjian. The cymbal is unusual in shape. The edges of the cymbal flare up instead of continuing down.

Cross-section of a China-type cymbal
The cymbal is generally described as having a "trashy" sound. I compare it to cheap pot lids with sustain. The sound is very cutting, and this cymbal is used sparingly and as an accent piece. Sizes normally run from about 16 to 24 inches.
