The RID's Code of Ethics - from which cricket425 has adapted the above - was established to protect and guide both the interpreters and their clients. The Code's underlying intent is to ensure effective communication, and all RID-certified sign language interpreters must follow the Code. Should violations occur, RID's Ethical Practices System is set up to evaluate complaints and take appropriate action.
