| Dar Robinson was an albino stuntman who appeared in various blockbuster movies from 1973 and 1987. His pioneering move was to use dragline cables for falling scenes, rather than airbags. This allowed the camera to be positioned above the falling stunt actor, so that you could see the hard ground below that he was apparrently about to impact.
Guiness Book of Records lists him as the highest paid stuntman of his time: In the movie Highpoint he received $100,000 to fall 700 feet from the top of the CN Tower before activating a hidden parachute 300 feet from the ground.
To see him at his best, rent the 1985 Burt Reynolds film Stick, in which he appears onscreen as a creepy hit man. His death scene is a classic.
