St. Thomas' Eve: ghosts will walk from now till Christmas Eve. One can divine the future by taking an onion, and sticking nine pins--one in the exact center, and the others out in a circle from in, encircling the onion--while repeating:

Good St. Thomas, do me right
And let my true love come tonight
That I may see him in the face
And in my arms may him embrace.

Put the onion under your pillow, and you will dream of your future husband.
