| With a name like that, it was inevitable that Delroy would become a movie star. Ironically, not many people know his name, but a lot of people would recognise his face. He tends to play hardened characters like drug dealers, FBI Agents or mob bosses, although he has done a few good turns in comedy and stage acting as well as providing voice overs for cartoons and TV shows.
He was born to Jamaican parents in Lewisham, South London, England before moving to Canada in his teens and then finally to the USA where he would graduate from the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco. After a brief foray into TV and film, Lindo spent 10 years concentrating on stage acting, appearing in a Broadway production directed by Athol Fugard in 1982. Since then A-List directors Spike Lee, Barry Sonnenfeld and Danny Boyle have all cast Lindo in roles during his career.
