Duuuude! This copyright thing is harshing on my mellow, you dig?
Sorry, I'm just pissed that I can't node this really great Desert Survival deal that I studied once when I was in Management with a large corporation. It's funny how the Head Dick will assume that if he pays some motivational group a huge sum of money for their little pet project, this will make all of his Managers far more effective and enhance the bottom line.
This particular motivational tool was intended to get you to work in teams to devise a way out of a very bad situation, with only limited resources. However, I'm sure it's copyrighted and I can't really put the thing in E2 as I'd like to. Perhaps I could just give an overview in my own words (since that's all I have is some notes about the deal) and take it from there. What do you think, GOM? Am I still legal? Tell me when I cross the line, OK?
The situation is this: It's around 10 AM in mid-August and you've just crash landed in the Sonora Desert in the southwest US. You were in a light twin-engine plane which has burned. The pilot and the co-pilot are dead. None of the rest of the passengers, including you, are badly hurt. The pilot was unable to notify anyone of your location before the crash, but there was some indication that the nearest inhabited locale was a mining camp 70 miles away. However, it is also theorized that you were around 65 miles off the course on your flight plan.
The area you're in is flat and barren, except for the occasional saguaro cactus. The weather report said that it would be 110 degrees that day, which means that the temperature on the ground would be around 130 degrees. You all have on casual clothes and street shoes. Everyone has a handkerchief. Together, in your pockets, you have a couple of dollars in change, around $100 in bills, a pack of smokes, and a ballpoint pen.
Now, here's the gist of the matter. Before the plane burned up, you were able to salvage 15 items from the wreckage. I'll give you the 15 items, and your task is to decide how to rank them in order of their importance to your survival.
Since this is presumably copyrighted stuff, I guess what I'll do is this: I'll list the 15 things and let you try and figure it out. I won't give the answers (in 15 separate nodes, as I so wanted to do) but will answer you via a private /msg if you want to ask me how you did, what you got right or wrong, or have any other questions. Here's the list:
Good luck!
