| A division of the Discovery Institute that was founded in 1996 for the sole purpose of promoting the idea of intelligent design as the source of life on this planet, a variant of creationism.
The strategy this Center is using is based on the belief that many leading influences, such as Darwin, Marx, and Freud portrayed people as simply animals inhabiting an impersonal universe, a materialist view, and that this change from the portrayl as moral and spiritual beings has hurt society - even described it as devastating. They plan to begin an "education" project to alert people of the truth of intelligent design, including attempting such things as "teacher training" and PBS shows.
They've recently made a presentation to the US Senate and House of Representatives, which could have bad effects on education if any action is taken by those bodies as a result of this. |
