In this
Douglas Rushkoff novel, an eclectic group of young people gather around a central figure, almost
messianic figure, a
British guy with a screw loose named Duncan. They have a goal, to use
computers and mind expanding
drugs to touch the next
dimension, to move beyond the temporal. To make money to support their communal lifestyle (read: drug habit), they throw nightly
raves in the warehouse where they live illegally. The massive amounts of drugs that these kids ingest throughout the course of the book makes the reader confused as to whether or not the
paranoia that exponentially increases towards the end of the novel is due to there actually being someone out there not. Makes for quite an interesting read.
