| My friend died last month, on a Friday. He was sixteen. He was on the soccer team. He liked video games.
At noon he felt dizzy and couldn't see.
By two he was in an operating room.
By three he was in a coma.
By four he was on life support.
By Sunday he was brain dead.
By the next Friday there was no more Hope.
This was my first experience with death. I cannot say that I know how to deal with it, but I do believe that everything happens for a reason. Look at your life right now. It could be worse. That should be reason enough to believe that everything turns out for the better. It took me a while to get my head around this. I'm still a work in progress, but I am trying.
I am seventeen years old. I cannot see myself at sixty, therefore I will probably die before that. Life is precious, no matter what anyone says.
I do not want to sound preachy, but this is what I've learned. |
