Ford Nucleon

(thing) by EliteGrunt (3 y) (print)   ?   (I like it!) 1 C! Wed Dec 27 2000 at 0:29:09

The first (and only, to my knowledge) car to run on nuclear energy. Designed in 1958, the car was never actually built (though several chassis were), but the fruitless research was sponsored by the U.S. Government. It looked somewhat like a Bel Air with a shortened front section, a lengthened rear section, and an intimidating nuclear reactor where the trunk would canonically be.
