This was the name used by Gia Carangi. She was the first "supermodel". Gia wasn't like the others. She was brash, sultry, dark.. She also had personal demons which killed her. At the age of 26, Gia Carangi died of AIDS, which she contracted from dirty needles. She survived the heroin addiction which eventually drove, then destroyed her career. Even she wasn't strong enough to survive the disease.
There was a movie titled "Gia", by HBO about her life. Angelina Jolie played the starring role. |
