An oddly hilarious sentence seen on a simple, otherwise uninteresting doormat. For two years I wanted to get one of these and put it on my doorstep, and then, a few weeks ago, I finally found a bookstore that carries them.
I mentioned the idea of getting one to my fiancee, who immediately reminded me that her ex-husband is named "Mat" (and spelled that way) and that the presence of such a thing at the entryway of our first home together would make her physically ill.
I suggested that she could derive immense satisfaction by stomping on it and wiping her muddy feet across it every day. It didn't work.
That's okay, though. I'm sure plenty of other opportunities to promote punning throughout our home will present themselves. I'm already shopping ThinkGeek for home office supplies. |
