| I recently noticed that all nodes are 'getting to know you nodes'
It would be nice to summarily smash the divisions between factual, creative, and getting to know you nodes. As if with a cludging great hammer. Well, consider it done. I can state unequivocally that all nodes, without need for debate, hand wringing or over strenuous buttock clenching, are getting to know you nodes. How can this miraculous thing, which would beggar the belief of witnesses to the parting of the seas (or indeed the meteoric rise to fame of Screech, from Saved by the Bell), be done?
Well, it's just patently true. Hypothetically (maybe not...didn't check), what prompts someone to node the first one thousand digits of pi (each under a separate title)? Naturally, they're totally anal, and probably have a collection of named ear wax chunks ordered by colour, flavour and emotive value. However, there are also other reasons. Is it because they think someone might like to look up the 666th digit so that they know the correct number of "jessicapierce's ass" nodes to write in order not to incur the unholy wrath of satan? Perhaps their parents played 'oiled up and buck nekkid twister' as a prelude to the act of their conception, and they now feel a greater than average sexual connection with circles. Either way, and I would like to think I live in a world where both these things are simultaneously true, they chose to do it because they wanted to. Nobody is forced to node at the sharp end of a wavering pointy stick held by their crotchety uncle Sven who screams insanely 'use up that space ye dang idjit .... that'll show them intie-net bastuds! Steal my lemur's* pants will they?' Ok, so at least three, but I don't count.
Regardless, noders node things they want to node, or by way of their circumstances, can node. Thus, we get to know them. Yes, I node inane crap. You would too, if you are me. I don't ask us why. Anyway...some node heart wrenching accounts of gerbils loved, then lost and mourned (oh Gerbil's heart, though sorely scorned: thy noble brow, so now forlorn). Sorry..I was channeling some dead english guy again. Others node anything that permits the witty sophistication of the words 'ass' and 'bandit' combined in the writeup. Thus, we get to know them. No one noder will manage to receive love from all the other noders, but that's good, and promotes healthy competition, as well as crimes of passion; which as television, movies and the bible tell us, is obviously desirable. In any case, through their works we may know them.
* some may note the use of lemur as opposed to monkey; this will be a controversial choice for some. I toyed with squirrel, but I've used chipmunk in nodes past, and that's pretty close. Besides, I already used not only gerbil, but both jessicapierce and satan above, pushing me yodeling maniacally into the yawning chasm of negative credibility already. |
