I cried you a symphony

You once told me that tears were notes,

Twisting a melody down your cheeks.

That they ran ever on,

Joined and danced,

That drip drop pavana of harmony.

You once told me that sobs were the beat.

Speeding up and slowing down, as the melody bears on.

Polyrhythmic hyperventilation

You once told me that all the notes and beats lived on.

That somewhere the orchestra still plays its mournful song.

That each layer adds to its beauty, its delicate power.

You once told me that music is the greatest gift anyone could receive.

My dear, I cried you a symphony.
