| While I agree in theory LordOmar, practice clouds this issue. African-American is a (stupid) politically correct term for a black American. By that token, I guess I'm a European-American; HOWEVER, people get first crack at naming themselves. If I refer to someone as a black person and shem tells me, "Hey, I prefer African-American", who am I to tell them they're wrong. When someone calls me an Irish-American, I'll gently say, "No, I'm just American -- thanks." ...unless I think I can get a free beer out of them for having Irish ancestors;)
