A ballet, with choreography and costumes by William Forsythe, to music by Thom Willems (b. 1955). Its première was in Paris on 30 May 1987, by the Paris Opera Ballet, and the dancers included Sylvie Guillem and Laurent Hilaire. The score is harsh, metallic, irregular, and absolutely wonderful. The piece uses nine dancers in total, and lasts for 26 minutes.
