Independence War

A space combat simulator for the PC. I-War is different than many other like games, due to it's realistic physics. The player controls a large warship, instead of a small fighter.

Independence War is very, very difficult, but still highly enjoyable. The ship takes a long time to turn around, speed up, slow down, etc. You can either use a fly by wire mode which tries to keep you flying forwards, or strict Newtonian flight which is a lot more complicated.

The overall feel is halfway between Wing Commander or other space sim and a strategy starship simulator like the old Star Trek quadrant games.
