Jaga was the oldest of the Thundercat Nobles who escaped from Thundera before it was destroyed. Since the trip to their new home, Third Earth, was to take a very long time, most of the Thundercats slept in Time Capsules, which allowed them to age very slowly. Jaga remained awake to navigate, until he eventually died of old age. He was the original bearer of the Sword of Omens, which Lion-O, the new leader of the Thundercats now carries. He guides Lion-O and the other Thundercats in their moments of greatest need by appearing as an apparition, and dispensing advice. He is the most human-appearing of the Thundercats.
