Poet, saxophonist, composer; originally from Arkansas. For ~30 years, he was one of the Art Ensemble of Chicago's "Twin Towers" altoists (Roscoe Mitchell was the other). He runs a dojo in New York now, IIRC, but is still musically quite active.
