One of the many biblical women identified only by their relations to men. Manoah's wife was visited by an angel of the lord who told her that despite the fact that she was until then barren, she would soon bear a son. Because of this she was to eat nothing unclean and drink no wine or strong drink. This son was to be a Nazirite to God from birth, and deliver the Isrealites from the Philistines. When she bore this son she named him Samson.
