The Monster Minds are the stereotypical bad guys in the 1985 DIC Audiovisual animated series, Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors. Led by their illustrious leader, Sawboss, the Monster Minds strive to rid the universe of all animals leaving only plants behind.
The Monster Minds were created when a flare of Black Light from a nearby sun struck the laboratory where Audric was experimenting on a new kind of vegetable. The Black Light gave the vegetables humanoid forms, the ability to become deadly vehicles, and a malicious intelligence.
Only one thing can stop the Monster Minds - the Root. Unfortunately, the Root is in two parts and both of these must be joined together to vanquish the Monster Minds. Realizing this Sawboss sends his mineons to find and destroy the Root and it's bearers, Audric and the Lightning League.
The Monster Mind hierarchy consists of their leader, Sawboss, the Trooper Leaders, and the troopers. The Trooper Leaders are Sawboss's generals, he gives them orders that then filter down to the troopers. The troopers are stupider versions of the Trooper Leaders, and highy expendable. The Monster Minds plant vines which then bear seeds that grow into the troopers. Both Sawboss and his Trooper Leaders can assume humanoid form, but the troopers are forever vehicles.
The Trooper Leaders are:
Terror Tank - has jaws with metallic teeth and a big gun.
Gun Grinner - has a flail with four barbed wrecking balls.
K-O Cruiser - has a huge wrecking ball.
Beast Walker - a massive Monster Mind that walks on four legs instead of having wheels. Has two laser cannons on either side of his head.
Sawtrooper Commander - Has a huge saw and looks like what Sawboss might if he ever assumed vehicular form. Sawtroopers generally lead the other Monster Minds in battle.
The Monster Minds move from place to place in their base. When Sawboss wishes the base to move all he needs do is cry out the magical incantation:
"By the Power of the Black Light...I go!"
