The date Jack Ruby fatally shot Lee Harvey Oswald in the Dallas County Jail, two days after the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. Oswald was being transferred from his cell to an interrogation office when Ruby lunged from the crowd and fired his pistol at the alleged assassin.
