Paracel Islands

A group of small islands and reefs in the South China Sea, halfway between Vietnam and the Philippines. No indigenous inhabitants, but a few Chinese military posts are on the islands, and China says it plans to open the area for tourism. Vietnam and Taiwan also claim the islands.
