Once a part of the Canadian Government under its heritage department, it later became incorporated, although maintaining ties with the Canadian Government. Its main goal is to provide information and protection for Canada's national and historic sites. Some important ones include Banff which is one of the world's most prestigious sky locations and Bellevue House, the first house of Canada's first Prime Minister - Sir John A. MacDonald.
