Patron Saints of places

Here follows a list of patron saints which are connected to certain regions, nations, states, cities, provinces, etc. Most places in the Western world have a patron saint, especially traditionally Catholic and Orthodox places. Many of them are Mary in all sorts of various contexts, and these are recognizable because they usually start with 'Our Lady' or 'The Virgin.' So here's the list...nations are starred, US States (and Puerto Rico) and Candadian Provinces are double-starred. I've included only cities that are very large or are known well in an historical or religious context (otherwise I'd have to list every town and village in Southern Europe):
