| Gulf between the Arabian peninsula and the mainland of Iran. It lets out through the Strait of Hormuz into the Gulf of Oman, which is more obviously part of the Indian Ocean. Bordering it to the north is Iran and a very small portion of Iraq, then going down the southern (southwestern) coast are Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates. Bahrain is an island in the gulf. |
