When this single was added to the Triple J radio playlist in 2000, things really took off for The John Butler Trio. It is one of their shorter tracks - barely 3 minutes long, which is extended by mind blowing guitar introduction, and improvised lyrics when performed live. It is the very epitome of great music; body flying in the rapture of dance which can only be triggered by blues and roots. I dare you to hear this song live and try to keep your feet still.
Pickapart was written by John about 'people not laying shit on you, and if they do lay shit on you then you tell them to go sort out their own victimized problems'. It is track one off the bands awesome self-titled EP, which was released independently in 2000.

Song by The John Butler Trio, from the EP JBT, 2000
So there aint no need to pickapart me
Cause what you get aint what you see
I said a little fucked up, a little crazy
But there aint no need to pickapart me
