The Sparkabots were a small group of tiny Autobot Transformers added in 1988, all of which transformed from a robot to a tiny ground vehicle (about the size of the earliest Autobot minibots) which could be rolled along the ground to produce sparks shooting out the back.

The Sparkabots' vehicle modes gave them an advantage over their Firecon counterparts when it came to their robot modes, since the boxy shape of a car is much easier to turn into a humanoid robot than a quasi-organic dinosaur. However, the absence of a cartoon featuring the toys in either America or Japan still left to a minimal demand for these toys.
