We find ourselves in sex

In sex we find all the things we lack in everyday life. People who have to be strong for others can let themselves feel weak. Those who are kept from showing their strength can be as strong as they need to be in bed. People who spent years not feeling cherished without strings can be the held and kept safe.

Sometimes we don't even know that these things are, or were, missing in our daily lives until we stop and look at what we crave in bed. Every fantasy and fetish, no matter how banal or bizarre, has a reason behind it. Find that reason, explore those needs with a loved one and apply what you learn to bringing a healthy balance in your everyday life.

We find ourselves suddenly nervous, agitated, uneasy. We find that the ground shakes a little too much, that the air-raid sirens are always a jolting surprise no matter how many times we hear them. We find ourselves - unexplicably - more comfortable with the people around us, despite our overall apprehension.

We are looking deeper into other faces, making sense out of wrinkles and haggard expressions. We find that we stumble about in a sort of daze, and yet observe small details with a heightened clarity.

We find ourselves wanting to touch people more than we normally would, casually but with significance. We find that we can allow ourselves sentimentalities which we would have formerly considered trite.

Hardly knowing how we got there, we find ourselves in politics, in religion, in the streets, in families, in love, in sex, in tears.
