multi-timbral digital synthesizer module released in
1986.
The FB-01 is an
inexpensive tabletop module with a simple 4-operator
FM synthesis
engine. No
filters or
effects are included. The unit offers 8-part multi-timbrality, but sadly no
dynamic allocation for the
voices. Furthermore, the same
LFO modulation is shared by all playing sounds.
Programming the machine is only possible by
computer software or
SysEx messages from a
sequencer. The FB-01's internal
memory holds 240 preset sounds and 96 user
patches.
