(Salvelinus fontinalis) A small
trout, with lots of colorful spots. Very tasty. At
Gold Lake, in the
Oregon High
Cascades, they are so plentiful that the state has increased the limit to 30 per day; the normal limit for trout caught in a lake in
Oregon is only 10 fish. The concern is that the are such voracious little eaters, that they make it difficult on the
native rainbow trout.
