A way for internet games to behave far more responsively to the player. Used by the Zeroping UT mod, which is the only game currently using it.

The server knows where you officially are, but the clients can make instantaneous calculations as to whether a shot is a hit or miss without going to the server. Of course this sounds like it could make it easy to cheat, and that is a risk that game implementors have to consider.
