| Cheese, often mozzarella, breaded and deep fried - also known as cheese sticks, or mozzarella sticks or the like. Usually served with marinara sauce, or a similar flavored tomato sauce for dipping. Very tasty, though not exactly in the healthy category.
They are mainly limited to the midwest United States in scope, though they can be found in other places in the US, and perhaps the world. The idea is very much strange to people from other parts of the world, as I found out in person after making friends with someone from New Zealand. We did convince her to try them, and she did also find them quite yummy.
