One of the several collaborative online art projects at sito.org, in which multiple people contribute to an ever-evolving group collage. The gridcosm consists of a constantly increasing number of levels. Each level is a 3-by-3 grid of squares. Any SITOan can reserve one of these squares and upload an image to place there. Adjacent squares completed by others should continue visually across all edges.

When a level is complete, it becomes the center square of a new 3-by-3 grid. on and on.... The effect is a sort of surreal dada russian doll effect as the finished levels are browsed through, unpeeling alternate realities...
